This weekend, I went to Usher`s OMG concert. What an awesome experience! Usher was every bit the performer and more. What really blew me away were his vocals. The boy just gets better with age, and it`s no question that he took the R&B world by surprise at the age of 16. Usher reminded me of all the reasons why I love 90′s/early 00′s R&B so much.
Of flow my camera lens started playing up properly before the concert, so I don`t possess any photos. But, here are my top ten favorite Usher songs.
1. `You Take Me Wanna` (1997)
Baby-faced teen Usher is still my favorite. I was a goner when I first saw this picture in the 7th grade. It`s also my favorite video because it`s purely Usher, his vocals and his moves. No hot girl, no frills or thrills, no silly pretenses. But the U-chain doth prevail.
2. `U Got it Bad` (2001)
Chilli and Usher made anadorable couple, too bad he had to be a distinctive male douchebagand cheat on her. This call is still amazing and unquestionably one of his most heartfeltjams.
3. `Nice & Slow` (1997)
Usher is sexy with a capital S and and this is where it all started. Excuse the doo-rag, it was the 90′s.
4. `Slow Jam` (1997)
I absolutely love this couple by Usher and Monica, even better than his duetwith Alicia Keys. I`ve ever wanted this to be my first wedding dance. Future hubby, are youlistening?
5. `Yeah` (2004)
I was midway through college when this song released, so this songmakes me feel 20-years-old again. It also reminds me that my partyingdays are shortly going to be over!
6. Confessions Part II (2004)
A quaker and I were discussing how neither of us really appreciated this call when it first came out, but it`s now one of my favorites. This song probably resonates morewith his male fans than any of his early songs do. According to rumors, this was purportedly inspired by his break-up with Chilli.
7. `Burn` (2004)
A grown-up Usher talks about grown-up relationship problems. The vocalsin this song are about of his best. This is R&B at it`s finest.
8. `U Remind Me` (2001)
Another classic Usher track that I know for no especial reason except that he sounds delicious.
9. `There Goes My Baby (2010)
Sadly, Usher`s quality has been going down with his newer albums. Raymondvs. Raymond mostly has club beats, which I do like, but I like Usherwhen he`s crooning classic R&B tunes the best. Usher`s falsetto inthis song is amazing. This is one of the few songs I wish from hislatest album.
10.`My Way` (1997)
The circus usually freaks me out, but put Tyrese and Usher in a video, and who even notices the circus theme?
